Education Workshop - "How to Apply for Public Works Contracts"


This presentation reviews how a public works project is put out to bid, what a contractor has to do to bid on it, what the difference between public works and private works entails and the problems that can befall the inexperienced public work contractor.

There are certain specific issue that a new public contractor needs to understand including prequalification, bonding issues, notice and claim issues, payment issues and more.

Public Works include work for the state, UC, CSU and local agencies and each has its own peculiarities that a contractor should be aware of if they will be bidding such a project.
